In 2015, He got huge popularity after he raised the minimum wage for his company's employees to US$70,000 and cut his own salary from US$1.1 million to US$70,000.

Dan along with his brother founded 'Gravity' in 2001. He used his savings, student loan to fund the company.

The company grew at very rapid pace when they started building their own technology and brought in its own card processing systems.

Company recorded a 30 to 40 percent productivity jump when he raised salary of company's staff in 2012.

With US$ billion in customer transactions, the firm's revenue hit US$150 million in 2014.

His net worth is estimated to be around US$12 million.

He also made a book deal of US$500,000 with publishing firm Viking Press.
